Pull Your Pants Up

I didn’t think I would have to say this on here.  I truly don’t even want to waste a post on the topic but it is necessary.

PULL YOUR PANTS UP.

Don't want to be a traitor to my generation....but pull up your freakin pants!

If you can read and you have full control over your muscles, I am certain that you can do that.  So why do so many people opt out of it?  No one wants to see your boxers.  No one.  I don’t care if they’re made by Ralph Lauren, Hanes, or Athletic Works (that’s Walmart’s brand for those of you who don’t shop at Walmart).  Either way, I promise that no one cares who makes your boxers.  How can you have on a $150+ pair of Air Jordans but you don’t have on a belt?  You can get one of those for $7 at TJ Maxx.  $15 if you feel like you need to sport a decent name brand on your waist.  It’s not as hard as you’re making it.

The next point I want to make: Because you never know you you may meet, it is best to always have your pants at your waist line but please don’t go into a business meeting with the waistband of your slacks halfway down your backside (I’ve seen it happen on multiple occasions).  You obviously have a belt on.  Use it properly.  Professionally (not literally), you might as well be hanging yourself with said belt.  You’re in a meeting or an interview and you’re sagging?  With a shirt and tie on?  Cool.  Let me know how that works out for you.

This day and age, you have to protect your brand.  That means you always need to be looking at the most successful people in your field and say “What can I do that will make me look like I will be as successful as this person?”  I’ll be you that, in any industry you look at, the most successful person in the field is not sagging.  You can even look at rappers, who brought the trend to popular culture, and you won’t see the most successful ones (Diddy and Jay-Z) sagging.  Do you know why?  Because they are now apart of corporate and political America’s brand and that’s not allowed.

I’ve always heard people say “I put my pants on one leg at a time, just like (insert any other man’s name),” in reference to saying we are all just people.  But guess step comes after pulling your pants up?  Keeping them there.
