The Blessing

Today I was at McDonald’s. I wanted Five Guys but I knew it wasn’t going to be a good decision to spend that kind of money on one meal. It just so happened that, halfway through my meal, an older man came up and said “Excuse me sir. I was wondering if I could trouble you for a dollar sandwich?” The man’s clothes were dirty, his hair was messy, and his teeth weren’t clean but his smile was genuine and his eyes were humble. I said, “Sure.” When we got to the counter, I got him two burgers, fries, and a drink. The man looked like a kid at Christmas.

I say all that to say this: Even when you eat at McDonald’s because you cannot afford Five Guys, God is going to have you spend Five Guys money and you will feel that it is the biggest blessing in the world. Sometimes you have to just pay it forward. And be grateful. That gift I gave made my whole day.
