Tonight I was asked to help out with the professional side of an etiquette dinner at a local university. So many young people do not know the ins ans outs of professional eating nor professional dress and it was a pleasure to help teach them these things. Paying attention to those minute things, such as the way you hold your fork or the detailed formatting of your résumé are what will truly set you apart as a candidate for employment. If nothing makes you stand out, why would any company worth anything want to hire you? My first football coach told us atthe practice before every game “Take care of the little things because the little things take care of the big things.” I took care of the little things and now I see bigger things falling into place.
