No Shave November – Beard Maintenance

At the beginning of the month, I posted about keeping a professional appearance during No Shave November.  Now, here we are on the last leg of the month and I’m sure many of us are looking a bit scruffy.  If you can, tough it out.  But, for those (like me, on a work trip) who have to look a certain way but still want to bring awareness, it can be done.

Yesterday, I took a trip to the barbershop to get a haircut and had my barber put a sharper line on my beard.  Didn’t trim it.  Didn’t take away any of its depth or length.  Just a nice, sharp line so that it would look well-kempt as opposed to unintentional.  My position requires a suit and tie.  Facial hair, in my field, though uncommon, is not frowned upon.  But ungroomed facial hair is.  If the same is true for you, take a trip to see your barber this weekend.  It may be the difference between you getting the promotion and/or raise at the onset of next year or remaining stagnant.
