Redefining Integrity

Integrity isn’t just telling the truth. It’s not limited to being open to the views of those around you.

Sure, it encompasses those two things but it is so much more. Integrity is about doing unto others as you would have them to do unto you. Or, maybe more importantly, doing unto others as you would have them do unto one of your loved ones. For instance, today, I saw someone drive through a crosswalk when someone else was walking through. The pedestrian was nearly hit. Who could be in that much of a hurry? What if that was the driver’s wife or daughter in the crosswalk?

See, integrity isn’t just treating someone how you would like to be treated. It isn’t just doing the right thing. It is giving everyone the very best you have to offer.

If everyone had integrity on that level, how much better would this world be?

Make professional development a priority.
