If you read my blog regularly, you see that I have recently taken a stance on what some people would consider political issues. But I do not consider issues of morality to be political in nature. Politics should not play a role in equity. And I believe that one’s professional growth and development rely heavily on his/her ability to treat people right. Simple as that. If you see your coworker being sexually harassed at work and you say nothing, one day that coworker could be your boss. Or, one day down the road, your son/daughter could be in the same situation. If you see a fellow human being wronged, you have a responsibility to speak up, lest someone remains silent when you or someone you love is in a similar predicament.
You can’t develop professionally when your personal life is in shambles. Remember that.
Make professional development a priority.
