Most weekday mornings, I’m not able to function at 100% without prayer, a quick read, and either a cup of coffee and/or a nourishing breakfast (I’m partial to the coffee option but trying to replace it with more fruit). If I go into the office without even one of these three things, I’m going to be cranky. It took me some time to figure this out but, now that I know it, I start all my days off pretty similarly (hitting the gym usually 2-3 mornings a week though I believe I’m better suited for evening workouts).
I say all that to say this: figure out things that you cannot start your day without and make a habit of doing them consistently. The goal should always be to perform at your highest level. What does that require you to do? If you know, do it. If you don’t know, take the time to figure it out.
