Keep First Things First

Millennials, I don’t mean to bring up anything that will upset you but, as we are getting older, so are our parents. Health and life insurance are things we must think about. Sadly, 5 years ago this month, I buried my father. My mother, though aging, isn’t in any foreseeable danger but still, life happens. The money you save is for you to save. I know that, at some point in life, my mother will incur medical bills. While I will be able to help if need be, I’m grateful that she has health insurance. Medical bills are the number one reason in America for bankruptcy.

Take care of your family. Take care of your parents. Take care of yourself. Life (and death) can happen to anyone at any time and, without insurance, it adds to your level of stress, which keeps you from being as successful as you can be going forward.

Make professional development a priority.
