Time cannot be grown. It cannot be produced. We do not know how much of it we have but we do know that it is finite. That being said, it ought not be squandered away on pointless things as if it were some cheap piece of printed currency. That includes dead end jobs. Now, I’m not saying go out and quit tomorrow. But I am saying, if you are wasting time working at a company that is in no way, shape, or form helping you accomplish any goal outside of paying bills AND you don’t have a responsibility to anyone else (kids/significant other), I strongly suggest looking into other opportunities. If you don’t, 5 or 10 years down the line, you will look back at this post and say “Deryle sure was right.”
Yesterday, I considered leaving my full time role to pursue my dreams and my fiancée talked me into staying. We met in the middle and I’m now going to take the part time route because it will help with bills and still allow me the freedom necessary to get my company onto solid ground by working with more clients. It is a step in the right direction. If you look back a few posts back, I simply asked that everyday, you do one thing to get you closer to your goal. So here I am. What step will you take today?
