How many times in life have you waited for everything to be just right before you made a move? And were things ever just right? Were you ever in perfect physical, financial, spiritual, and mental condition? Were all your friends and family doing well? Were all of life’s stresses gone?
I’ll answer that for every person on the planet: No. Conditions will never be perfect. I’m not saying jump blindly. But prepare yourself and jump, knowing that you’ve done all you can to set yourself up for success.
There are two things I will not do: 1) fail my family and 2) live life unhappy. Once I leave the traditional work force, if I have to get another 8-5 job to support my family, I will but I’m confident in my ability to build a life that will allow me to enjoy what I’m doing every day and find my purpose in it.
Make professional development a priority.
