Avoid the Early Grave

Don’t work yourself to death for anything that you don’t have a stake in. If you’re getting a check, that’s cool; go to work, do your job, show that you’re valuable but know that your happiness and health are worth more than any amount of paper they could give you.

When it’s all said and done, if you die tomorrow because you were too stressed by your job, how long will your legacy last there? Will your family be able to sell the stake you held in the company/organization to help ease their financial burden? The real question is “Are you shortening your life for something that isn’t going to help supplement what you bring to the table when you no longer can?”

Make professional development a priority.
