Don’t Let Them Pop Your Balloon

There are folks whose goal in life is to pop your balloon. They will take the ideas you come up with, capitalize on them, and leave you looking for the next great idea after you already came up with a great one.

That being said, keep your friends close and your ideas closer. Share you fitness secrets and your motivational influences. Share the books you’re reading. But when you have an idea that could put food in your stomach and change the trajectory of your future (as well as the future of your family), play it close to the chest until you’ve been able to secure the legal rights to it. The last thing you want to do is see your idea run across your TV screen without your name associated with it.

Make professional development a priority.
