We all make compromises every day but we have to ask ourselves “What we are giving up to get what we want?” Are we losing sight of our values to get something we’ve been told to value?
Money is important. Happiness is important. Money without happiness serves little purpose outside of keeping us alive. Happiness without money, though possible, is increasingly difficult to come across.
The key is managing the two. There will never be perfect balance but you can make the two coexist healthily. And, if you can’t, you need to remove the common denominator that prevents it from happening.
Make professional development a priority.
