When you go to conferences, the minute you get back to your room, write down characteristics on the business cards you’ve collected that will make you remember who you you met. Shoot, don’t just do it for conferences. Do it every time you get a new business card. And, then, use the card.
Short lesson but a critical one.
Make professional development a priority.
Business cards. We all get them. Every time we go to a conference on a business meeting. Know what I do when I get them? Write notes on them. Can’t forget what stood out about the person. Because, when you leave the conference or meeting and pull the card out of your pocket in 3 days, you’ll have something memorable to write in the e-mail. Why? Because you remembered it. And they’ll be impressed that you did.
